Maryam Alimardani Speaker

Maryam Alimardani is an associate professor at Tilburg University working in the domains of brain-computer interfacing (BCI) and human-computer interaction (HCI). She holds a PhD from the Intelligent Robotics laboratory, Osaka University, Japan. In her research, she develops BCI systems for personalised interaction with technology particularly for the purpose of adaptive training and learning. Using EEG brain signals and advanced AI models, she creates intelligent interfaces that can monitor a user’s mental states (such as attention and workload) and provide personalised feedback. She has applied BCI systems to various interactive technologies, including virtual reality (VR) simulations and social robots, in order to give the user a better control and enhanced experience with the technology.
