After joining Meta in 2020, Matthew Sanders became the Education and VR Director Global Affairs in October 2022 with a portfolio including the management of the company’s education policy strategy and key relationships with education stakeholders. Prior to this, Matthew was the Director of Property, Campaigns and Communities where he was responsible for leading the organizations’ work on developing campaign and engagement strategies. He has also held other executive policy roles within the education sector including at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand, the Cabinet Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the UK and at the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge.
