Alexandros Vigkos is a Policy Officer specialising in Virtual Worlds and Web 4.0 at DG CONNECT, European Commission. He supports the Commissions work on developing policies that ensure open, secure, trustworthy, fair, and inclusive virtual environments for EU citizens, businesses, and public administrations, while promoting the EU’s competitiveness and technological leadership. He has been focusing on studying and understanding emerging and frontier technologies such as Virtual and Augmented reality and the ways they impact the economy and society since 2016.
