Melissa Culhane draws birds and animals with the kind of attention that makes you stop and look twice.

Based in Sligo on Ireland’s northwest coast, she works across drawing, animation, and – increasingly – XR. Her AR book Growing Up Human brings hand-drawn Irish wildlife into the world of young readers, supported by the Arts Council of Ireland. She also illustrated the number one bestselling children’s book Naturama. Her graduate animation premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh and screened at festivals worldwide.
