Michael Schuling has spent his career inside operating theatres – as anesthesia technician, simulation trainer, and unit head – which makes him exactly the kind of person who knows where healthcare training breaks down.

Today he is kwartiermaker at DUTCH, a National Growth Fund programme building the future of clinical training in Dutch hospitals. The ambition is concrete: replace at least 50% of traditional on-the-job training with high-quality simulation – physical and digital. Over 130 healthcare professionals are already involved.

Michael brings the practical credibility of someone who has worked the floor, led teams, and now gets to reimagine how the next generation learns to care.
