Rens Hoofs, is an interdisciplinary artist based in Rotterdam. In his practice he merges spatial design, scenography, dance & choreography, photography & film making, and fashion design in his making process.
Hoofs has a background in architecture and design, obtaining the bachelor’s degree Bouwkunde with distinction cum laude at the University of Technology Delft and partially at the University of Melbourne. He obtained his master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Technology Delft. In between his studies, he gained experience in the profession of architecture as an intern and junior architect.
For 16 years Rens Hoofs competed as a gymnast. After quitting gymnastics, he entered the dance and circus/acrobatics scene. Currently he is part of creative dance collective THE PULSÄ–, and is an artist in residence of the Moving Media Lab trajectory initiated by CineDans. Besides, he works as an Assistant Curator & Exhibition Designer at the BK Public Programs at TU Delft.
