PETA, the world’s largest animal rights organization, has teamed up with the technology agency Demodern to develop a groundbreaking VR and AI application called “”When They Came for Us. This innovative social simulation raises awareness about animal rights by immersing users in a role-reversal scenario. Designed for Meta Quest, it leverages ChatGPT-4o technology to create unique, personalized interactions through voice control.
Incorporating AI-based Non-Player Characters (NPCs) in a business context offers several benefits, including enhanced customer experience, operational efficiency, and overall strategy. Using NPCs for “When They Came for Us” enables us to provide a consistent, immersive experience while maintaining high engagement levels.
In the virtual environment of the simulation, players are abducted by superior aliens and must convince these beings of their rights through dynamic, AI-driven dialogue. The gameplay is virtually unlimited and always evolving, as the AI NPCs learn and adapt, providing varied responses based on user input. This ensures each interaction is unique, keeping users engaged and challenged. Multilingual support enhances global communication, broadening the application’s impact and accessibility, making it a powerful tool for PETA’s mission to advocate for animal rights and welfare.
