XTREME — Mixed Reality Environment for Immersive Experience of Art and Culture — is an EU Horizon Europe funded research project (grant no. 101136006) that started in January 2024 and runs until December 2026. The project is coordinated by the IT University of Copenhagen and brings together a consortium of 14 European partners, representing an €8 million investment in developing mixed reality solutions for the arts and culture sector. The project encompasses four artistic use cases, each developed in collaboration with a leading European cultural institution:
